The Ranch
Ranch-style houses are a uniquely American architectural style. First built in the 1920s, the ranch became extremely popular from the 1940s to the 1970s. Ranch homes were also called “ranchers” or “ramblers.” If you enjoy funky ranches, or proudly own one, you’ll love Atomic Ranch magazine.
Several classic St. Louis 50s ranch neighborhoods were created by architect Ralph Fournier and developer Burton Duenke - including Ridgewood and Craigwoods. Click here to see a cool blog about the history of Ridgewood subdivision.
